About Me
I am a proud father of two wonderful children, born in 2023 and 2025. My spouse and I both graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), but unlike many of our peers, we did not pursue high-earning careers. Our degrees, though valuable in their own ways, did not translate into the kind of financial success often associated with prestigious education. However, we have never measured our worth solely by income, and we find fulfillment in the life we are building together, centered around family, simplicity, and intentional living.
My biggest goal is to achieve Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) by the age of 40 in 2031. This does not mean I plan to stop working entirely. Instead, I want the freedom to choose work that aligns with my passions and values, rather than being tied to a job out of necessity. I dream of having control over my time, so I can be present for my children as they grow, explore meaningful projects, and contribute to my community in ways that matter to me.
The journey toward FIRE has required discipline, careful planning, and a willingness to live below our means. My spouse and I prioritize frugality, mindful spending, and investing wisely. We believe that financial independence is not about accumulating wealth for its own sake, but about gaining the autonomy to live life on our own terms. Every decision we make, from our housing choices to our daily expenses—is guided by this long-term vision.
Beyond finances, I am deeply committed to personal growth and lifelong learning. Even though my degree did not lead to a high-paying career, I value the skills and knowledge I gained during my education. I continue to seek out new learning opportunities, whether through books, online courses, or hands-on experiences. I want to model curiosity and adaptability for my children, showing them that success is not just about income, but about continuous growth and resilience.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. Raising two young children is both a joy and a responsibility that shapes my priorities. I want to be there for their milestones, their struggles, and their everyday moments. Achieving FIRE is not just for my own freedom, but also to ensure that I can provide stability and presence in their lives. My spouse and I work as a team, supporting each other’s goals while nurturing a home filled with love, patience, and shared values.
In the years leading up to 2031, I am focused on building multiple income streams, optimizing investments, and staying adaptable to changes in the economy and job market. I am open to side hustles, freelance work, or entrepreneurial ventures that align with my interests. The ultimate reward will not be early retirement in the traditional sense, but the ability to wake up each day with purpose, choosing how I spend my time and energy.
Life is short, and I want to make the most of it, not by chasing material success, but by creating a life rich in experiences, relationships, and personal fulfillment. By staying committed to the FIRE principles, I am confident that I can reach my goal and enjoy the freedom to live intentionally, for myself and my family.
